We have some big news to share—our merger with MelodyVR has officially closed. With the completion of the deal, we are starting a new and exciting chapter with MelodyVR.
Over the next year we will combine the Napster and MelodyVR businesses. This merger joins together two global organizations with a shared commitment to make meaningful change in our industry.
Together we will:
- Create combined and new consumer apps which offer music fans around the world a consolidation of music artist's repertoires including recorded music, short form video content, long form video content, digitally ticketed live streams, educational videos and immersive AR/VR content, into premium subscription products.
- Benefit from the enhanced flexibility of the combined platform technologies and back-end systems from both MelodyVR and Napster, allowing the Napster business to continue to support both existing and new PaaS partners with compelling solutions.
“The experienced and passionate team at MelodyVR has created some of the most immersive and connected experiences on the market today,” said Bill Patrizio, CEO and President of Napster. “The addition of the MelodyVR team and solutions will allow us to accelerate the innovation we can deliver to customers in the years to come.”
Anthony Matchett, CEO of MelodyVR said, “This is a tremendous outcome for two organizations with complementary platforms and large audiences, and we could not be more excited to be moving forward as one company.”
Over time, we will share more information about how our services will fit into MelodyVR’s larger strategy.
