Streaming fundamentally changed the way we discover, share, and listen to music. That’s why I’m thrilled to join Rhapsody at such a dynamic time in music and also happy to share that it’s an important time for Rhapsody, too.
Today, we released data that shows listening and engagement for Rhapsody and Napster are at an all-time high.
- Our subscribers are listening to 40 percent more music on their phones compared to last year.
- Over the past six months, the amount of time subscribers spent in the service on a weekly basis increased by nine percent.
- In just the past 90 days, listening hours increased by more than 15 percent.
- Canada is Rhapsody International’s fastest-growing market, where Napster experienced an average subscriber growth of eight percent per week in its first three months.
We know these positive statistics are a direct result of our work to improve the product through customer feedback. Rhapsody recently rolled out new features like The Listener Network and Music Match to help listeners around the world discover new music by interacting with other people, which our customers are loving. Additionally, our global partners around the world are playing an integral part in helping us deliver the best music experience to more people. A special thanks to our partners in Latin America and Europe, including Radio Transamerica, Brazilian football club Corinthians, up-and-coming artist Sofia Oliveira, SFR in France, Telefonica’s E-Plus/O2 in Germany, Vodafone Greece, and Vodafone Netherlands, for joining us on this journey!
As we celebrate Rhapsody’s 15th year, I look forward to continuing our mission to build the best way to listen to, discover and share the music we all love.
