Today, alongside MusiCares®, we are happy to announce an initiative to give back to the community that is the backbone of Rhapsody and Napster. During GRAMMY® Week, we committed a $100,000 donation to MusiCares.  In addition to our contribution, we have committed to work alongside MusiCares to raise awareness of the emergency financial assistance, addiction recovery resources, and other health and human services they provide to music people in need, and celebrate the success stories of their amazing work.

“At Rhapsody and Napster, we value music and the individuals who make it,” said Jody McKinley, vice president, Rhapsody International. “By partnering with MusiCares, we are able to play a part in providing the music community with the fundamental support they need to ensure that great music continues to be created for our members around the world. Our members are passionate music lovers and we’re excited to work together with them to support MusiCares’ important mission.”

As part of our ongoing work with MusiCares, we have set a goal to raise an additional $25,000 and we invite our members and friends to help support our efforts by contributing to this campaign. The full $25,000 and any other proceeds raised will go directly to the Foundation to support their programs. Founded in 1989, MusiCares is a lifesaving safety net to the music community in times of need and their work is core to Rhapsody and Napster’s mission to put artists at the center of everything we do.

“With Rhapsody and Napster, we are able to connect directly with music lovers who are passionate about supporting the music community,” said Kristen Madsen, Sr. Vice President, MusiCares. “This support is critical to our ability to continue to provide resources to members of the music industry in need.”
