Napster Playlist Challenge: Round Seven
Hi
there. We're kicking off round seven of the Napster Playlist Challenge
on June 15. This is a unique opportunity for all you Napster
subscribers to
get creative with your
playlist-making skills and maybe even receive 20 free MP3s
and have your playlist featured on Napster. Yes, you read that right: Now the creator of the best playlist submitted will get
20 free MP3 credits. Yeah!
To
take part in the Napster Playlist Challenge, simply send us your best
playlist based on the current theme, which for this month is Hip-Hop Hooray. We're looking for the ultimate mix of hip-hop tracks to get the party started, so send us your playlist featuring the best beats and rhymes.
The rules are simple:1. You need to be a Napster subscriber. 2. Your playlist should be based on the theme provided and be 10 to 20 tracks in length. 3. Send us your playlist by 3 a.m. EST on July 5, 2009. 4. Please don't send a playlist if you don't want it to be featured. 5. The chosen playlist will be featured from July 21 to July 27, 2009, and its creator will be awarded 20 free MP3 download credits.
Submitting your playlist is easy: 1. Create your playlist using Napster and click on the button "Share" in the upper-left corner. 2. Enter playlistchallenge@napster.com at the top, next to "Your friends' emails," and send. And don't forgot to give your playlist a snazzy title!
Let's get started! Send us your playlist today.
Once again, this month's theme is Hip-Hop Hooray, so send us your playlist featuring the best beats and rhymes.

Well twinkletoes, apparently you didn't look at the winning playlist because 14 of the 16 songs did have the word "summer' in it. The point is that the winning playlist didn't have anything to do with what they asked for in the challenge.

DashboardDJ856, get over it! you didn't win because those songs are lame. Whatever the contest is called a good play list is one that really sets a mood or feeling. It is something you would listen to to make a particular situation [in this case summer] better. Making a playlist is NOT a scavenger hunt. just because a song has the word summer in it doesn't make it the best choice.
"As far as I am concerned no explanation from you is a sign of guilt & deception." your posts are still there they could have deleted it, but they [Napster] probably think you just come off sounding stupid.

Again I ask, when did the summer challenge, change the theme. From last month's challenge quotes, "To take part in the Napster Playlist Challenge, simply send us your best playlist based on the current theme, which for this month is Summer Vacation. Summer's almost here, so we're looking for summertime mixes. Send us a playlist with fun in the sun in mind."
The playlist that was picked is now called Ultimate Summer. A chill set of R&B and hip hop classics. I don't see any connection with vacation or fun in the sun.
Also I quote from the challenge, "The chosen playlist will be featured from June 23 to June 29, 2009". Well, the featured playlist on Napster's Homepage for this week is Country on the Road, Summer 2009.
What is the point of setting up a challenge, and then napster doesn't even follow it's own rules. Why should we even bother to enter?
As far as I am concerned no explanation from you is a sign of guilt & deception.

I have a big problem with the June 23 Summer playlist vacation winner. If you read the theme of the challenge, it is called Summer Vacation, yet now your calling it Ultimate Summertime. I don't see anything vaguely close to any vacation themes there. So when did you change the theme. So what criteria was used?
I would think songs like Surfin USA by The Beach Boys, Vacation by the Go-Go's, California Girls by David Lee Roth, Under The Boardwalk by The Drifters, at least they have Summer Vacation themes & places running thru them. The playlist that was picked has no vacation themes anywhere?
Any comments?
