Freeland, Cope

Freeland, Cope Standing as one of the founders of the breaks movement and owner of  Marine Parade Records, Adam Freeland has continuously expanded his vision. His latest album comes booked under the band name Freeland and is much more of a collaborative project than anything he’s attempted before. The album Cope (according to the bio) shows us a collective, with “everyone from the PixiesJoey Santiago and Spinnerette’s Brody Dalle to Jerry Casale of DEVO and Tommy Lee” of Motley Crue joining in. Adam also hooked up with Kurt Baumann of The Burned, with whom he co-wrote most of the material. The final product retains a percentage of the breaks sound you would expect from Adam Freeland, but also displays an element of that “live” feel you would imagine given the lineup. Give it a shot, and check out the video for “Under Control.”
