Colt Ford, Ride Through the Country
Admittedly, it's kinda hard taking Colt Ford and his album Ride Through the Country seriously. Like Cowboy Troy, Ford raps his country music, and that's a combination that's a bit odd for most country (and hip-hop) fans, and it definitely takes some getting used to. Remember that thing about trying to get that square peg in a round hole? Yup, something along those lines here, except that, on more than one occasion, it actually works. Don't ask me how, it just does.
There's something curiously infectious about tracks like "Dirt Road Anthem" and "Cold Beer." The subject matter of the songs is exactly the same as you'd find on a lot of other country albums (partying and extolling the virtues of the country lifestyle), but it's done in that urban hip-hop/country hybrid style. The album features plenty of guests such as John Michael Montgomery and Jamie Johnson, so if you're feeling adventurous, give it a listen and tread down a different path. You might like it.

Colt Ford and his band are a great show. I never liked either country nor hip hop/rap, I am a straight up hard rock n roller, but I LOVE this band. They know how to do it and they do it right.

OI love country music and dont really listen to hip hop at all. However Colt Ford is the only artist i know who is able to blend these to genres, as he does so quiet well in songs like Ride Through the Country, Dirt Road, and Cold Beer. So if you like country and want to explore into other genres i really reccomend Colt
